Its origins date back to the nineteenth century, when it belonged to King Victor Emmanuel II, who used it as a private hunting reserve. Today, it has become a sanctuary for many animal species, including fallow deer, chamois, wild boars, coypus, red squirrels, amphibians, and even wolves.
During that time, the Castle (also known as Borgo Castello), the Castle of the Lakes, and numerous farmsteads were built, including Cascina Emanuela (now known as “Rubbianetta”).
Today, La Mandria Park is a protected natural reserve owned by the Piedmont Region, encompassing over 6,500 hectares where visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, picnics, and a variety of outdoor activities.
For nature lovers, it is a true haven and a wonderful outdoor experience to share with the whole family. To the delight of little ones, the park can also be explored aboard a charming mini-train, on horseback, or during a carriage ride.
